Hypnosis to reduce MENTAL LOAD
Do you feel like you’re losing control of your mind, with thoughts running in a loop, invaded by a never-ending to-do list?
Do you end your days tired, angry, in a bad mood and sometimes with a good headache?
You probably suffer from mental overload.
Let’s see how Therapeutic Hypnosis can help you reduce your mental load and find more calm and serenity on a daily basis… very gently.

What is mental load?
Mental load refers to the excessive accumulation of thoughts, things to do, and daily concerns: the grocery list, finding a gap in the schedule to do housework, appointments for oneself or for the kids, projects to finish, emails to send, etc.
Even in bed, once the day is over, we are already thinking about everything we have to do tomorrow.
Mental overload is thinking about everything, all the time.
If you suffer from intense anxiety and panic attacks, it is important to consult your doctor or a psychologist.
Who is most affected by mental overload?
The most affected people are those who have to juggle multiple responsibilities – home, family, work… – with the impression or reality of being alone to manage and not being able to escape all these responsibilities.
At work, people complain about having too many projects to manage at the same time, being inundated with emails, having far too many meetings and not enough time to do “real work”, having unattainable goals imposed on them, overwhelmed by administrative tasks…
At home, it’s juggling everyone’s schedule – soccer games, dance competitions, trips to organize – with the administration, the tax return, the end-of-month bank accounts to pay the credit card and of course the household chores that never end.
And for the “sandwich” generation, in addition to their still young children, it also means dealing with aging parents, becoming a caregiver without really wanting to…
Symptoms of excessive mental load
Our clients who come to hypnosis for an excessive mental load describe a deep state of mental and physical fatigue that affects their concentration, their mood, their sleep…
Here are the most common symptoms of mental overload:
- Feeling mentally and physically tired every day, when finishing work, or finally going to bed
- Continuing to think about everything there is to do, finding it difficult to distance yourself from your work, even with your family or on vacation
- Having trouble concentrating and making decisions, making “silly” mistakes, or having memory lapses
- Being stressed, anxious, irritable
- Having trouble sleeping and even dreaming about your job….
This over-solicitation and multiplication of tasks to be managed therefore generates significant stress, loss of productivity, emotional exhaustion and, in the long term, a serious risk of burnout.
And this mental load often has negative repercussions on private life, family life, professional life…

Therapeutic Hypnosis: A Powerful Method to Calm the Mind
Therapeutic Hypnosis induces a state of deep relaxation, facilitating the opening of a channel between the conscious and the unconscious.
This is not about “losing control” or letting someone “play in your head”, but on the contrary, about helping you take back the reins of your mind by freeing yourself from negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs.
Your hypnotherapist acts as a guide to help you access a state of great physical and mental relaxation and great concentration, where you can reconnect with your inner resources.
He or she can also give you self-hypnosis tools, so that you can continue to deepen the work at home between sessions.
How does Hypnosis work against mental load?
Hypnosis is a global approach, which acts on both the conscious and the unconscious to restore a lasting inner balance.
- It reduces stress by calming the “mental hamster”
- It helps to isolate intrusive thoughts and reframe them in a more serene context. To encourage you to take a step back, and make task management more fluid and less stressful.
- It strengthens the ability to let go, which is essential to avoid psychological exhaustion.
To take a step back, better negotiate your priorities – with yourself or with others – and perhaps also learn to say NO…
The concrete benefits of Hypnosis for mental overload
Neuroscience has shown that the state of hypnosis influences brain function, in particular by modifying neural patterns related to stress and mental ruminations.
This makes it possible to:
- Soothe stress and tension
- Improve concentration and clarity of mind
- Decrease intrusive thoughts
- Improve sleep quality
- Strengthen self-confidence and learn to let go

How Julie Overcame Mental Fatigue with Hypnosis
Julie, an executive in the finance industry, juggled her demanding job and her family life. She was constantly thinking about her to-do list, and she would often wake up during the night, struggling to get back to sleep and anxious about everything she had to do the next day.
After trying a lot of things to manage her stress (yoga, sports, meditation, …), she decided to try hypnosis.
“From the first session, I felt an incredible relaxation. It was like a spa for my brain. Over the course of the sessions, I learned to calm my “hamster”, to choose my priorities, to say no and to take breaks without feeling guilty. Today, I sleep better and feel mentally lighter.”
Some self-hypnosis tools to lighten mental load
During a hypnosis session, we often teach you how to do self-hypnosis, to help you become the captain of your own ship again.
Here are 3 practical exercises that we could suggest you integrate into your daily life:
1 – The “healing bubble” 🏡
- Settle into a comfortable position, in a quiet place, without phone or television.
- Close your eyes and imagine a protective bubble around you.
- Imagine this bubble filled with soothing light and lots of good positive things, absorbing all your stress.
- Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply, letting your mind calm down.
2 – Anchoring Calm ✨
- Imagine a situation that evokes calm, such as a landscape, music, color, happy memory, etc.
- Combine a deliberate and precise gesture with this feeling of relaxation (for example, pressing the thumb and index finger together).
- In a state of hypnosis, repeat this gesture while feeling a deep calm.
- Repeat this exercise regularly so that it becomes an anti-stress reflex.
3 – The “Worry Box” 📦
- Before sleeping, visualize an imaginary box next to your bed.
- Put all your worries of the day or intrusive thoughts there.
- Close the box and imagine it slowly moving away.
- Let your mind clear up and slip into a peaceful sleep.
